City and Commune Łapy is a local government which aim is to search and support investors. The Commune Łapy is located in north-eastern Poland in the Podlaskie Province. Łapy City is situated on the route Warsaw-Białystok, 160 km from Warsaw, 25 km from Białystok (the capital city) and about 50 km from currently designed a regional airport.
At present, the Łapy’s Commune population amounts to 23 000 inhabitants, therein the Łapy City was estimated at 16 300. Our Commune is surrounded by numerous areas of unique natural features. Substantial proportion of Łapy is situated in the Narew National Park and is often referred to the Amazon of Poland. It creates unique backwaters, which attract tourists and ornithologists from Poland and other countries.
In recent years the Commune Łapy showed a great effectiveness in obtaining EU funds, (therein on development of entrepreneurship) and an activity in its efforts to acquire investors. At present, a planning process which is connected with drawing a new plan spatial development is coming to an end. The main aim of this plan is to make available about 190 hectares areas for investments. In the draft plan, the major part of the area is devoted on investment areas, stockpiles, magazines allowing the storage location services together with accompanying facilities and the green. The remainder of the area will be dedicated to the communication service and a housing development.
The Łapy Commune is ready to cooperation in the implementation of various initiatives for a local development.
