The World Bank, since 2002, publishes a report on a yearly basis that ranks the ease of doing business among 189 countries. The position in the rank is given based on the score in ten categories of crucial importance for small and medium size business, such as investment conditions and the climate for business activity management. Thanks to the questionnaires both domestic and foreign companies were given the opportunity to indicate the advantages and disadvantages of managing a company in the economic and legal context of a given country.
In the 2015 edition of the ranking, Poland overall moved up thirteen places, from the 45th to the 32th position.
Poland's biggest improvements are revision of the costs for new electricity connections that reduced the costs for new customers, improvement of port proceures by launching a new terminal operating system at the port of Gdańsk and introduction of online property registration procedures,
The Slovak Republic ranked on 37th position, the Czech Republic clasified 44th position and Hungary 54th.
